To get Certification in CCNP Routing and Switching, candidates need to complete three different modules that are Route, Switch & Tshoot.

Implementing Cisco IP Routing (ROUTE 300-101) is a qualifying exam for the Cisco CCNP Routing and Switching certification.

The course will help candidates to gain knowledge and skills needed to plan, implement, and monitor highly secured scalable routed network for both branch offices and mobile workers. The course focuses on routing protocols for both IPv4 and IPv6: EIGRP, OSPF and BGP for enterprise Internet connectivity. Our certification training courses are all self-paced so you have the flexibility of when and where you wish to complete your course. For example, our Route course can be completed in 30 days, but you can complete it even earlier by increasing the time you dedicate to your studies.

Will I get certified immediately after my course ?

Softech Systems provides certification training to prepare you for the actual certification exam(s). We are not involved in the actual examination process, nor do we provide the certification itself. However, we are so confident in the quality of training that we guarantee you will get certified.

Will the score be displayed on CCNP certificate ?

No. it will just say  "you have successfully passed". Score is displayed on the SCORE Report which you get immediately once your exam is over.

How many attempts can I make to complete the Exam ?

As many as you want, there is no limitation on the number of tests. But you should take some time before attending it again.

How do I recertify my CCNP ?

Cisco professional level certifications are valid for three years. To recertify, pass ONE of the following before the certification expiration date:Pass any current 642-XXX Professional-level or any 300-XXX Professional-level exam, orPass any current CCIE Written Exam, orPass the current CCDE Written Exam OR current CCDE Practical Exam, orPass the Cisco Certified Architect (CCAr) interview AND the CCAr board review to extend lower certificationsAchieving or recertifying any of the certifications above automatically extends your active Associate and Professional level certification(s) up to the point of expiration of the last certification achieved.

How do I register for the CCNP exam ?

You can take the CCNP exam at any VUE testing center.

Should I take the CCNP courses in a specific order?

While there is no mandatory track, there is a suggested one. First complete ROUTE and SWITCH (they may be taken in any order), then complete TSHOOT.

Do I have to pass CCNA before starting CCNP Training course?

No, the CCNA certification is not a requirement in order to take any of the CCNP courses, but you will need to understand the principals that are covered in CCNA. In addition, you will need to successfully pass the CCNA certification exam(s) as well as all of the CCNP exams, before you can obtain a CCNP certification.

How do I know that I have successfully completed a simulation?

Each simulation has text that explains what task(s) need to be completed and how you will know that the task(s) have been successfully completed. The "success" statement will be something like: "You will have successfully completed the tasks when the following routes are seen in the routing table."Or"You will have successfully completed the tasks when you can ping from Router-A to Router-B."

If I don't know the answer to a question, can I leave it and come back later to answer it?

No. When you move to the next question, the item is submitted to the test engine for grading. You cannot come back and change the answer. How do I know that I have answered all the questions in a simlet?Since a simlet is made up of a series of multi-choice questions, the test engine will check each question when you attempt to leave the simlet. If you have not answered all of the questions, you will be warned and will be allowed to return to the simlet.

What is the difference between a simlet and simulation?

Both simlets and a simulations require you to use a simulated IOS interface to complete a series of tasks. With a simlet, you use show commands to obtain information that is used to answer a series of multi-choice questions. With a simulation you use configuration and show commands to perform a series configuration and troubleshooting tasks. Keep in mind that with a simlet or a simulation, the full IOS is not available. Thus if you type a command that is not needed to successfully answer a simlet question or to complete the simulation, you will get a response similar to "That command is not supported". If you receive this statement, this command is not needed to successfully compete the simulation or answer the simlet questions.

Do I have to know the exact IOS command syntax to complete either a simlet or simulation?

Both a simlet and a simulation provide the same level of context help ( ? TAB and command shorthand) that is available in an IOS device.

Do I have to pass the CCNA exam before I can obtain a CCNP certification?

Yes, you will need to successfully pass the CCNA and all of the CCNP exams to obtain a CCNP certification

What if I don't recertify within the three-year period?

You must then meet whatever CCNP requirements there are at that time, from the beginning. It's easier to make sure you recertify. Becoming CCNP certified is a great boost to your career and your confidence, and as with any Cisco certification, it's up to you to stay current with the CCNA and CCNP requirements.

Why is CCNA a pre-requisite for Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification?

CCNA ensures that CCNP candidates possess a solid foundation of networking knowledge, which lays the foundation for the professional curriculum. Without that prerequisite foundation, the student may not be able to keep up with others in class and learn the advanced knowledge and skills presented in the CCNP courses.

What are the job skills I will acquire with the revised Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification?

The new CCNP program maintains its focus on the advanced skills required to manage the routers and switches that form the network core, and expands to include techniques to deploy and support the wireless, voice and security applications on the network edge. Network professionals who achieve the new CCNP will demonstrate the skills and knowledge required to fully utilize the Cisco ISR router’s ability to provide wire-speed delivery of concurrent data, voice, video and wireless services applications.

Does the Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) recertify my CCNA certification?

Yes, the higher level certification holds the greater value. Therefore achieving and maintaining a Professional level certification renews the lower level general certification.All recertification requirements must be completed before the certification expires. It is not possible to recertify a certification that has already expired

What will I receive when I complete my certification exam?

At the completion of computer-based proctored exams, all candidates will receive an exam score report. The score report includes a score breakdown by exam section to help candidates determine their areas of strength and weakness. In addition, your score and the passing score for the particular exam taken will be listed on the report. Please do not discard or misplace your score report. Keep it in a safe place for future reference and proof of exam completion. Also, information on your score report such as your Cisco ID number and/or Test ID number will be used to identify you in the Certification program

How do you score your Cisco certification exams?

Cisco Career Certification exams scores are based on a point scaling system that is widely used in the industry. Your score can fall within a point scale of 300 to 1000 points. You are automatically awarded 300 points for beginning the test and can score up to 1000 points if you answer every question correctly on the exam. Please note that the specific number of points awarded to a given question varies on each of our different exams. This does not change the content or format of the exam or the way in which the exam is graded.

Can I achieve a Professional Level certification with an expired CCNA certification?

No, a valid CCNA certification is a prerequisite for Professional Level certifications. Candidates are allowed to complete the Professional Level exams without having a valid CCNA Certification. However, the Professional Level certification will not be awarded until the CCNA prerequisite has been met.

Why do the CISCO exams have expiration dates?

Placing expiration dates on exams ensures that candidates starting a multi exam certification such as CCNP, CCDP, CCVP, CCSP and CCIP, complete the program within a specified time-frame.  By passing all of the required exams within a specified time period, candidates demonstrate that they are tested on current content. In situations where the period exceeds three years, candidates will need to re-take those exams that expire.

Why are simulations added to the Cisco Exams?

With the adoption of simulations on certification exams, Cisco complements a growing trend among information technology (IT) companies to increasingly focus on knowledge and skills in certifications. Simulation-oriented questions model real-life networking scenarios for test takers by requiring them to apply troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to address realistic networking problems. Using simulations in exams will provide a more comprehensive measurement of the skill and knowledge level of certified individuals. The simulations are designed to measure a candidate's ability to execute tasks appropriate to the level of certification. Scenarios used in simulations provide a more realistic environment and measure the degree of knowledge and skills. Candidates must be able to complete a task using the correct commands, in the right sequence.
